Temple of Isis Michigan and Treasures of Isis Jewelry Designs

The mission of the Temple of Isis Michigan is to bring awareness to the Kemetic/Egyptian side of Earth Spirituality. This belief system is a rich and diverse culture which has many, many members across the world.  Not all worship just Isis. There are many God/desses (Netjeru-pronounced "neecheroo) and each person feels a special kinship to all sorts of them.  The goal is to make others feel welcome and comfortable in a safe environment and be able to express their spiritual belief without closed minded retribution from society. Also our mission is to make the world aware that as an Earth spirituality, we are here to stay and we are happy with who we are. Even in the Pagan world ancient Egyptian/Kemetic spirituality has come under prejudice because of the types of God/desses.  Many of them are part animal and that has been a source of prejudice and fear.

The Temple of Isis was founded just over three years ago. It was my brainchild when I realized at that time, there simply were no Kemetic groups in West Michigan.  To me,  online spirituality isnt spiritual at all. So I decided to simply create one myself  with the hopes of bringing likeminded people together in fellowship and happiness. This organization is about love, joy and celebration of the God/dess within us ALL. In a world of troubled times, economic stress, homeland violence and terrorist threats, we need to understand and accept the internal divine in all of us. This is the greatest blessing and gift we could give to ourselves, our families and the world and make changes within ourselves.

I would very much like to bring all the Egyptian/Kemetic/Isian organizations of  Michigan and the Great Lakes area together to meet up and come to know each other about once a month or every other month. But we all must be willing to meet each other half way. 

As  I stated, this is not a competition. Spirituality should never be a competiton.  My organization is about fellowship and the freedom to express who we are and how we believe.  I am happy to include links to other Kemetic organizations here as well.

ABOUT ME:

I am 41 years young, a Cancer/Leo cusp, and I am disabled from an auto accident, fibromyalgia and other health issues. But I remain as active as possible as I own my own jewelry craft business called Treasures of Isis Jewelry Design, which is a part of this website. I live with two cats; Mika and Nicholas: (minus my Isabella, sadly).

I  belly dance when I am able, and I live a quiet life, making my jewelry, reading, studying, (much of which is my spiritual and Isis studies)  dedicating my home time to nurturing orphaned infant kittens, meditating and occasionally stargazing with my telescope.

I came to the Egyptian religion a bit over four four years ago. At the time of realizing my Egyptian spiritual roots, I had been Pagan for about 10 years jumping from  path to path and nothing felt right to me.

Eventually I attempted to become a part of a Michigan Norse group that resulted in embarrassing disaster in late Summer of 2005. It was when I was involved in that group that I began feeling the draw to ancient Egypt, and the two overlapped. In early 2006 I attended the Egyptian "Quest For Eternity " exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.  It was a true spiritual awakening and epiphany!

This experience could not have come at a better time in my life, as I had experienced several tragedies in my life. My life was going no where and I felt lost and alone. When I found my spirit Mother in Isis, and Spirit Father in Osiris,  I knew I was on the right path.
 
During this time, I began training to become a Priestess of Isis under the Fellowship of Isis. But due to personal, financial and health problems, I was not able to maintain the contact required for the coarse. However, my priestess training has not stopped and never will. Life is always about learning and I continue my training and devotional activities every day. While I am not yet ordained, that is my goal. Isis Herself, will let me know when it is time for that.  And not in clouded judgment from former associations.
